The cylinder head plug (often called a sealing plug, gallery plug, or core plug) is a metal stopper press-fitted into the openings of the cylinder head. On the Greaves E5+ twin-cylinder diesel engine fitted to Ligier JS50 and Myli models, these plugs are used to hermetically seal the internal channels that were drilled during cylinder head manufacturing (pressurized oil circulation galleries or coolant passages).
